Independent Reviews
Over the past several years, I’ve built a body of independent product reviews centered around the life my family and I live on our rural Tennessee homestead. I evaluate tools that support that world – firearms and shooting, hunting, homesteading, and vehicles.
Every product is tested in real-world conditions and covered honestly, without paid promotion.
This work is personal and separate from The Coutts Agency’s paid marketing services.
Brands I’ve Worked With
Over the past two years, I’ve collaborated with established manufacturers and emerging brands alike. Every collaboration has started the same way – mutual alignment and product fit.

Featured Review Work
Below is a curated selection of representative reviews. These projects reflect the format, depth, and production standards brands can expect.
What I Choose to Review
This channel is built around the life I’m actively building.
My family and I live on a rural homestead in Eastern Tennessee. That property has become the center of our life – where we hunt, grow food, raise animals, and build our family. As a firearms enthusiast, I’ve built multiple ranges on the property, stretching out to 300 yards. As an avid conservationist, I spend significant time on public land as well, hunting across the East Coast.
I’m constantly looking for products that add efficiency, capability, and real value to the way we live. Those are the products I choose to review.
Sometimes that means equipment that improves performance in the field.
Sometimes it’s gear that increases proficiency or reliability around firearms.
Sometimes it’s tools that make land management or day-to-day homestead operation more efficient.
But the common thread is simple:
If it doesn’t fit into the real world I live in, I don’t want to cover it.
How I Approach Reviews
If we decide to work together, I take it seriously.
I test products in real-world conditions. I look for strengths, tradeoffs, and context. My audience expects substance and honesty, not blind enthusiasm.
To keep that trust intact, I operate under a few clear standards:
I do not accept payment for reviews
I maintain full editorial control
I evaluate products based on real-world use
I communicate directly if a significant issue arises
If something substantial surfaces during testing, I will reach out before publishing. The goal is not to create “bad reviews.” It’s to provide an honest evaluation – and when appropriate, to highlight a brand’s willingness to stand behind and improve its product.
Additionally, I try to learn about your product, present it fairly, and want to feature it in a way that aligns with your goals.
Most companies appreciate that level of transparency.
I’m easy to work with. I value communication. I understand that no product is perfect. But long-term credibility – for both of us – matters more than short-term wins.
If that approach makes sense to you, we’ll likely work well together.
Interested in Working Together?
If you’ve read this far, you likely understand how I approach this work.
I’m always open to connecting with brands whose products genuinely fit the ecosystem I’ve described. The best collaborations happen when there’s alignment – in values, in audience, and in how a product is meant to be used.
If you believe your product belongs in that world, I’d be glad to take a look.
Not every product will be accepted, but every serious submission will be considered thoughtfully. Long-term relationships matter more to me than one-off coverage. If there’s alignment, that’s usually obvious early.
Frequently Asked Questions
What deliverables can brands expect?
Photo and video assets showcasing the product in real-world use. This may include YouTube long-form videos, Shorts, Instagram posts, Reels, Stories, and collaborative posts when appropriate.
Where will content be published?
Photo and short-form video content is published to Instagram. Long-form videos and Shorts are published to YouTube.
Do you work under media embargo for product launches?
Yes. If a product is sent under embargo, I prioritize production to ensure content is ready to publish the day the embargo lifts. I understand coordinated launch strategy and plan accordingly.
What is the typical delivery timeline?
For non-launch products, coverage typically rolls out over 3 – 6 months depending on the product, season, and depth of testing. I prioritize real-world use over rushed timelines.
How do brand collaborations work?
When relevant, I’ll use Instagram Collaborations to expand collective reach across participating brands. This is only done when the products fit naturally within the project
Can brands use the photos and videos you create?
Yes. Brands may share and repost published content featuring their product with proper credit. If extended usage rights are needed for advertising or paid media, we can discuss that separately.
